The Value of Slow Eating...

Monday, October 01, 2012

Due to my recent jaw injury, I have learned to value the joy of eating slowly. Instead of wolfing food down as quickly as possible, a slow leisurely approach seems to work. I seem to eat less, enjoy more, and stop when I am full.

I'm not sure if there is any information regarding health/weight and the speed at which you eat, but I feel like I'm getting more out of my food this way. What are your thoughts?

I think it's been proven by someone that people who eat slowly are less likely to overeat because your body has adequate time to signal your brain that your stomach is full. When you eat quickly you outrun the message and consume more than is needed :]
