And I ran, I ran so far away......

So running...
yeah, I don't do it!
Ok I did when I did the Warrior Dash but not a lot of it lol!

Anyway, one of the guys I work with wanted a workout partner a couple of days a week so we were talking and decided "let's do this"!

Friday morning we stayed after work (there's a gym where I work....it's not much but it's not bad) and started off the morning with a run. Ok...he ran...I ran a bit, walked fast a bit, ran a bit more. The whole time he was being encouraging so I couldn't whine very well darnit!
The distance was only a mile but I probably ran about 1/4 of that. I was annoyed with myself because for someone who works out and does a lot of cardio I should have been able to run.

Annoyed....for a moment....then I realized that running is a whole different thing and at least I was starting. So then Annoyed became...

Inspired!

Sunday morning I went to a local park by myself, plugged in my tunes and did 3.6 miles....again it was mostly speed walking but I did run at times and have decided that I like the way it feels so I plan to keep on doing it!

I won't give up! I will run that entire mile soon!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Peace,
T

Keep it up. Before you know it running will be much easier.

I started in May and I'm now running 6 days a week. I run 2 days for 45 min, 1 day for over an hour and the other 3 are my 1 miler days so only about 12 to 15 min.

It's all about building the endurance and learning to breathe.

I have a secret to tell you. Running is a very mental game and your body will do anything to tell you can't do it. Look up a book called the Running Within.

Thank you for writing this in your blog, truly inspiring. And if I might note, you're moving right past the negative self-talk ("I was annoyed with myself because for someone who works out and does a lot of cardio I should have been able to run. ")
Keep at it, you're amazing, keep running, you'll get to where you envision yourself. Run and walk and run into it. I'm cheering for you!
