Things are looking up!

Now that I've taken an interest in taking care of myself, I'm starting to feel better physically and mentally. Apart from that, people are really starting to notice my progress as well. It's not as hard as it used to be, it's almost coming naturally. I splurge once a week, but even then I know my limits. I've had to cut out my working out because I've been working late almost every night. The days I am off I'm either busy or just too tired to even fool with it. I figure being all over the place for 10+ hours a day will make some kind of difference. I'm starting to see weight loss as a 12 step program: It works if you work it!

I am learning I must take care of myself so that I can take care of my husband. In 2009 he had a heart attack which resulted in a double bypass due to a bloodclot. He was recovering from that when his appetite started to fail and he developed neck and shoulder pain which turned out to be lupus. Unfortunately, it took over a year to diagnose the lupus as it masked other symptoms. The lupus has done some damage to his lungs. He is up and about again, but fell in the street at our driveway resulting in a big gooseegg on his forehead as well as a broken left arm. Now, the cardiologist is telling him he has decreased bloodflow in his lower heart. If I don't stay strong for him, we will both fall apart and quality of life will diminish.
