Ant's on a log

Monday, October 01, 2012

Had my lap band doctor apptointment today . I lost about 6lb in 6 weeks so it was a pound a week. I'm slow and steady that seems to be my normal.I go back in 6 weeks right before thanksgiving. I had hoped to lose more a week when I started this journey. you see so many before and after photos and they lost 2-3 lb a week but with having the baby its not the case with me.

My clothes are getting to big which is a bit of a problem i dont have the money to buy more so i have to make due and wear belts. some things I have smaller sizes I can wear but the stuff I really like are not looking so good anymore. They are falling off or hanging too low. at work I have had a few people comment my pants were too big. they notice the legs being too big. And even so I dont see that much of a difference when looking in a mirror. Sometimes im actually surprised when a smaller pair of jeans fit because I dont feel like I have lost weight but obviously I have. I guess its because I lose it so slow. I have also noticed my son (13) has lost weight as well and the pants i just bought him for school are too big he had to get a belt. so not buying all the junk food is paying for more then one person. he is not overweight but was on the upper end for his age

Today I woke up with a slight cold. It has affected my voice I sound horse . And dont have much energy today. I have been sneezing and everyonce in awhile my nose runs so it could be allergies. So i havent eatten the best today from not feeling so good especially this morning getting better as the day goes.

I did make some ant's on a log . I havent had this in years and wonder why I have waited so long lol. Its good for a snack and it helps take away my sweet cravings and it has some protein in it from the peanut butter. I used cruncy peanut butter and lots of raisons. Funny how you forget about foods that you really like. My daughter likes them too. I managed to eat some leftovers for supper at work I wasent really wanting it but knew i had to eat something. I need to stock up on some soups for days like today. I could really go for some chicken noodle soup .

Over the weekend I did paint my kitchen cabinets white . wow what a difference it made. the kitchen is so much brighter . course im a terrible painter and got paint on everything else but most of it is getting replaced as well so didnt really matter. all i have to do now is i want to do some touch up and paint the cabnits i painted months ago just so i know they match color wise. Then onto the walls! It may be next weekend before i get anymore done. Spent a lot of time with the kids playing outside most of saturday we went 4wheeling and played cornhole. Sunday we played some board games.

Congrats on the weight loss and shrinking out of your clothes. I have been in that situation too. Do you have any good thrift stores near you? I have found it helpful to just pick up a couple smaller items there as transitional clothes - who wants to invest money in new clothes that are only going fit for a short time and you're going to shrink right back out of, right? Keep up the good work!

I had gastric Bypass Surgery three years ago. The weight came off slow at first and then just kept dropping.. Focus on the water and eating small meals the rest will happen. Loose clothes and lost inches are a better gauge than pounds on the scale. Watch your salt intake that will change the scale too. I have lost 100 pounds and have never regretted my choice for a minute. Good luck and my prayers for a quick weight loss. Brenda
