My Pond

Monday, October 01, 2012

Someone asked if I had a pond, so I thought I would share that also. We have a creek close also, at the foot of the bluff, just the other side of the big pasture, but I am not finding a good picture. But the pond is in my backyard. It is pretty relaxing. My sister and her 9 year old daughter spent the night on the beach Saturday night, under the stars with only their sleeping bags. The kids, even teenagers, go down quite often and make smores or just sit around the fire.

Wow, your pond is so much prettier than ours! And probably doesn't have snapping turtles! Gorgeous place to be! You are indeed fortunate!

Now you know why I want to get healthy, so I can stick around and enjoy it all! We call it our vacation home. Cuz now we can never afford to take a vacation, we will just have to stay home!! haha

Actually, I really wanted a place for the family to come back home to when they have some vacation time. And the economy was tanking, so I wanted plenty of room in the event we needed to take in some family.

And you know what? Last summer floating around that pond like a blubber whale, is what started my journey, of sorts. My sister and I were on our floats, and we made a pact to lose 30lbs by Christmas. That didnt happen, but it started the wheels in motion. I lost 6lbs noodling around that summer, while my grandson and niece swam daily! Then in January, I got serious :)

What an ideal setting and I was just thinking the same thing as Houndlover that the horses seem to realise how lucky they are. You are surrounded by so much beauty and inspiration.

I bet he was still in awe of the site, they are beautiful.

Awe shucks, thanks! And you know what? The horses have never done their business on the beach, nor in the water. Amazing, huh? One time when DHs brother was here, I asked him if he wanted to see a beautiful blonde and a gorgeous brunette on the beach hahaha
