It has been a while since I have considered my weight-loss goals because Life has gotten in the way; namely illness and a stressful job. Stressful situations at work are so mentally draining, by the time I make it home peace and rest is what my body craved. Well that and junk food. This is always a battle for me and the continuous slippery slop.
The question is how do you deal with getting healthier while dealing with stressful life situations. The easy answer, change your situation.. but how easy is that. How do you focus on your health when other life situations require your focus? I haven't done a very good job at balancing but that doesn't mean I stop trying. The other day I said out loud, "this is my life, I just need to go ahead and live it." I need to live it instead of waiting for a brighter day.
With that said, what is my new goal? My Answer, healthy living. This goal is definitely different from my previous plans of Weight-loss. I still have some similar goals, drinking water and green tea, more fruits and veggies, no fried foods, no fast foods, no sodas and few sweets. I have decided instead of removing all the foods I love, just learn how to eat in moderation. This way, I won't feel like I am on a diet, instead, this is a gradual life style change. I am going to stop eating out or ordering in so much and just cook.
I am pledging to go to the gym 4 times a week and walk.
I also pledge to record my meals and make adjustments where needed.
I pledge to stay away from the scale because I don't need that pressure and feel disappointment when I don't make my mental goals. Getting healthy is my plan, not weight-loss. Weight-loss will be the added bonus while achieving my healthy goals.
