As I sit hear thinking about all the things I have to be grateful for I can't help but count my lucky stars for everything I have. I am grateful that God made me an eternal optimist. I have had people say they don't know how I deal with some of the stuff I do but I am a believer in that things happen for a reason and something good will come of everything.
I am grateful that I have such great kids, grandkids and in-laws. Today I am especially greatful for my wonderful DIL who went in the 10km with me. She is 25 years younger than me and much fitter. She could have ran the whole thing in a much faster time than me but no she stayed with me the whole race - that is what is all about to her - we registered together and we should stay together to support each other, push each other. For that I am grateful.
I am grateful for my husband who worries so much because his health issues makes our life harder but really it has taught us to appreciate the lives we have and to live each day. There the poor man was trying to run across a field this morrning to get to the finish line so he could get a picture of me crossing (he was late getting there because some of the Grandkids wanted to come and he was waiting for the to arrive at the house.
I am grateful for my job - it provides me with a good living and keeps me always thinking.
I am grateful for my pet - she is always waiting just for a pat on the head and a chance to lick your face in a happy greeting.
I am grateful for have a huge yard that allows me to have my gardens - for in the gardens are where some of my best ideas are hatched.
I am greateful for this team. It make accountable, gives me a kick in the pants when I need it and tons of support. It has allowed me to get to know an amazing group of women from across the world and I can't help but hope that one day I get to meet them all.
I am grateful for my friends. They are there when I have something to celebrate and will home my hand when I am in the deepest depths of pain.
I am grateful that I was born in such a great country. We have freedom of speech, lots of food, water, clothing.
I am grateful that I have this computer. Without this computer I wouldn't have the ability to join Spark people, communicate easily with relatives across the country.
So yes I am a pretty lucky old gal. An whenever I am feeling sorry for myself I can pull up this blog and see just a few of the many blessings I have to feel grateful for.
