News from the cat angel of death

Sunday, September 30, 2012

In my last blog I told you all about the new kitty. On Thursday when I went to clean her litter box, I noticed that she hadn't defecated at all, but had peed up a storm. Bad sign. I took her to the vet and discovered that she had not only diabetes, but also kidney disease. So I called the previous owner and told him I was not willing to provide the treatment this all would entail, and we agreed it would be better to put her down. So we did. Two cats lost in less than two months. I also learned that if I am to get another kitty, it has to be a kitten. Grown up cats have issues with dogs and other grown up cats.

Sorry for your loss. That is probably good advice about getting a kitten. I hope you will find the perfect one soon.

I am so sorry for your loss. One gets very fond of pets very quickly.

I cared for my neighbor's cat for a month, she had untreated diabetes. Because of her age, the neighbors planned to let her live out her natural life span. With the kidney disease, you really made the right decision. And personally I thought my neighbors should have either treated their kitty, or put her to sleep. emoticon
