Walking in the Rain

Saturday, September 29, 2012

We drove over to walk at Kit McConnico Park in Lufkin today. This is a new county (Angelina) so I couldn't miss it. Even though we had a steady rain we walked the mountain bike trail. Suprisingly we didn't get muddy. The trail was sandy. It was slick in spots though.

There were no fall colors in the trees and there wasn't any wildflowers blooming but there were lots of toad stools. Kept looking for Papa Smurf LOL. There were the plain old white ones, some red ones too. but my favorite were these pretty yellow ones.

They had a 10K route and a 5K route. The 5K and 10K started out the same and split at this sign. Thought it was cute that the 5K people took the Cheater's route!
