Excited About Life

Saturday, September 29, 2012

I'm doing well. I think I'm so overwhelmed by everything in my life that I have just gone sort of zen. Nothing fazes me these days.

I got my teeth checked/cleaned after having gum surgery in August. They found decay under a filling, so unfortunately, my big mouth is about to cost me even more $$. Happily, the surgical site has healed well after giving me problems, so I am pleased about that.

I also got the shoulder checked out. It's been a month since I injured it shifting boxes after moving house. The x-rays were good, but I'll need an MRI and maybe surgery, because they think I tore something in the casing of the ball joint. She talked for a while, but I didn't really grasp it. I just know I'm in pain, and it's probably going to cost.

After four weeks of being ill with a sinus/bronchial infection, I seem to finally be on the other side. WOOT! For a while there, my head felt so swollen that I thought I might score a gig in the Macy's parade as one of their balloons!

My new job is going well. They have been amazingly understanding of my health issues, but I don't want to abuse the goodwill and have worked as much as possible. To make things more fun, I've started a masters in Military Science and am taking night courses. It's unnerving to return to school so many years later, but I am enjoying it. The professor is a retired USMC commander and a sharp thinker. My first paper is due this week, and I'm busily one-handedly typing to get it done. I'm surprised at how nervous I am!

I also signed up for one of the Groupon deals and am now getting scuba certified, too. I attended the orientation last night and think the instructor is a darling man. Classes begin on Monday, meaning that October is going to be utter madness, but at least I won't be bored.

Must tootle if I'm to get it all done. I've missed you all and am trying to catch up bit by bit. Thanks to the many folks who have left kind messages!

SCUBA?!?!?!? yikes, strapping all that equipment on & sinking myself under water doesn't suit my fancy - I'm sure you'll have a blast but I'll stick to snorkerling, thanks so much!
Otherwise you sound a lot like me - keeping all the plates spinnin' that you can!

What a busy, exciting, varied life you lead!

I am so excited for you about scuba-certification and new night courses. I really enjoyed going back to school a few years back. It was nerve-wracking, and completely threw my family for a loop, and those months were busy as hell, but it was such an ego and emotional well-being boost!

I wish you well with your first paper.

And I am so pleased that your job is going well. that sure helps everything else kind of fall into place, right?

Sorry that you are still having health issues with injured shoulders and mouth troubles. I pray that they both heal quickly.

One of these days, I'm going to write your biography! Of course, I don't do 'reality' well, so we'll have to put a 'magical' twist on it, but I'm sure it will still be readable! LOL!

You're amazing, Cat! I am SO thrilled that you like your job and that they're treating you well!

Best wishes for your new acedemic pursuit and your scuba certification! Yay!

Have missed you, and appreciate your updates. No worries on responding personally. You keep LIVING, and I'll live vicariously through your excitement (except the gum surgery and shoulder stuff - lol).

(I changed my name and may change it back, but it's me, Dots).

    You've always impressed me.
