TGIF!! The closing on my mom's house was today. I stopped at the house one last time before going to the bank to sign the papers and hand over the keys. I walked around from room to room reminiscing on all of the great times that were had there. I remembered the huge train set my dad used to set up every year for Christmas in the living room. He loved those trains. I remembered making anise cookies with my mom in the kitchen while listening to Bing Crosby sing "White Christmas." I went into my old bedroom that my parents had turned into a computer room and had a little laugh remembering how the walls used to be COVERED with pictures of 80s hair bands and fake spider webs!! My parents let me make that room my own no matter how much they disagreed with my decorating style!!
The good news is that the house was sold to my nephew. I'm sure he will take care of it and I'm just happy to keep it in the family. I know my mom is too.

My daughter and I went to the big Bloomsburg Fair yesterday where my Fitbit said I walked over 11,000 steps!! We had a really good time and it was nice spending mother/daughter time together.

I'm just glad it's Friday. I have a lot going on this weekend and next week. I am having a Tupperware party on Sunday, but boy did I pick a horrible weekend to have it! Most of the people I invited can't come. A big difference from a Pampered Chef party I had where a ton of people came and I sold over $1500 worth of stuff!! Oh well. We'll see how it goes!

Monday through Wednesday I will be in State College for my CIRT training (Critical Incident Response Team) so I will hafta apologize to my Azure sisters since I probably won't be on a whole lot. Not to mention it is me and my honey's 1st year anniversary Monday. Since I am going away we will be celebrating Sunday evening at an italian restaurant...shhh!! It's a surprise for him!

I've had an exhausting day and I'm a little moody emoticon so I'm going to call it a night! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

How great you were able to have that "last look around". It's wonderful that you have some happy memories there. Time rolls on and forever changes things, sending you in new directions. That's how it goes, and it's sometimes hard to cope with that! You sound ok though, and I'm happy you can have that burden off of you as well. It's nice that family will still be there- makes things a little easier.
Hope you had a great anniversary dinner as well. I know this is a little late, but I just stumbled on your blog while visiting your Cabana boy... er... I mean your awesome Germany decorated page! emoticon

Sweetie, no one can ever "close" those memories. Hold fast to them. It has been a bittersweet time for you and you've had A LOT going on. Take a deep breathe and forge ahead. Enjoy your anniversary celebration (mum is the word) and know that you have a loving support group here and that your Island Sisters are cheering you on girlfriend! Together we CAN! emoticon emoticon emoticon

So hope you will be able to visit the house since your nephew bought it, that would be nice--maybe someday he will have the family over for a holiday---and you can once again remember the wonderful times there. Just reading your blog brought back wonderful memories of my growing up in the home I grew up in.
