Our church has small groups each "semester" that can be anything from Bible studies, budgeting classes, knitting group, couponing, book studies, marriage group/class, etc. I even taught a workout group as one of the small groups before. Last semester I taught the Lysa TerKeurst "Made to Crave" group and used the Made to Crave DVDs and Made to Crave Action Plan DVDs. It was a huge success! Right now my husband and I are leading a marriage group (Jimmy Evans DVDs, Return to Intimacy. We have also lead his first DVD set- Marriage on the Rock- in the past). Since my passion is to help others become healthier and teach them how to take care of their bodies better, I am leaning in the direction of a group like that for the next "semester"- which will start in February. I have been following the "PrayFit" site on Facebook and just picked the book up yesterday from the library. I'm going to read through that and see if it would be a good book to use for the small group. My vision is to focus on a different food group and Bible verse each week. I plan to hand out recipes and workout ideas. I'm contemplating doing a short 30 minute workout for each group, not sure yet since this group will be co-ed. I'm excited for this, still in the planning phase.
