I was in St. Louis this week, so I'm literally buried in a backlog of email that I need to get to, but I just wanted to share a bit about my trip.
We ate at the Mango restaurant on Monday. It was Peruvian fare. I had a peppery beef stir fry dish. It had good flavor, but it was mostly beef, very little veg.
Tuesday night, we went to the 360 bar at the top of the downtown Hilton to meet some other co-workers for cocktails. It was stormy, so we all just ordered food there. I had flat bread pizza loaded with mushrooms. The food wasn't much to speak about, but the view! Normally, storms put a damper on your event planning, but since we made it to the bar before it rolled in, we were able to take a few good shots of the arch. Here's one:
The storm's light show was impressive from our vantage point at the top of the hotel. Pics of that were a bit hard to capture!
Wednesday night, three of us went to Sindey Street Cafe. The food was amazing. We selected three appetizers: crab cake, pork dumpling, and lobster turnover. The dumpling was exquisite! I had their scallops with squash and bacon jam. It sounds weird, but the bacon jam was amazing.
Did I work out? No, even though I packed a ton of workout clothes. One morning I did get as far as getting dressed, even had my sneakers on. But I was so tired, I hopped back in bed.
I'm happy to say that despite the lack of exercise, I maintained my weight this week. I'm still quite tired today. But I'm glad to be home to get back to my normal routine.
Next week will be my first Zumba Monday since my instructor is switching her Tuesday class to Mondays.
Have a great weekend!
