Today's topic: "What do you do for wellness? For example, to increase emotional, spiritual, or intellectual well-being? "
In fact, emotional, spiritual well-being is at the core of my program. Intellect is a tool in the process.
As a self-identified compulsive overeater, I keep 12 step materials around the house, and read them, I would say "daily", but that would be a perfectionist statement. Close to that. I both pray (talk to a power greater than myself, whom I choose to call God) and meditate (listen for what God has to tell me).
I journal, which helps me identify emotions and intellectually to deal with them. Some of this journaling is on paper and y'all never see it. Some of it is pretty open, right here in the blogs.
Reading is one of the great joys of my life, and I tend mostly toward fiction to fuel my imagination (and give me something to mull over while running, riding or swimming when I let my mind wander). I like themes of good versus evil and complex characters. Traditionally I have some self-help book or another "in progress" at any given time.
And I Spark. Spark is about far more than nutrition and exercise advice. It's also (for me) about finding kindred spirits, hidden around the world. We are not alone. We are journeying through our lives, working out the puzzle of what our personal missions might be... and hopefully, by sharing them, Sparking one another to make a difference in our lives, our communities, and ultimately, in the world.
Life is GOOD. Spark on!
