Excuses, excuses

Thursday, September 27, 2012

I have so many excuses for everything. The excuses I have come up with for not exercising aren't unique but they serve there purposes. The one I use the most is " I can't exercise while my husband is up". I've talked to him about this and he poo poo's that excuse and says just do it. Ok, what about how tired I am? Well, I probably wouldn't be so tired if I got regular exercise. Well I don't want anyone to see me in my exercise clothes. Dude, you are such a dork, that is what exercise DVD's are for. Last but not least, I have no time. Of course you don't have time because you just spent 2 hours sitting on your ample butt watching TV. GET UP AND DO SOMETHING!

Good for you for recognizing that the choice is always yours and for making the decision to choose differently.

Go for it!!!

I totally get it. I have a difficult time exercising when my husband is even in the house. I've managed to find ways around it though "You are NOT allowed in here for the next 45 minutes - I don't care if the house is burning down."

Once you get out there and start you will feel so much better. Start out small then work your way up. When I started exercising I began walking for 15 minutes at a time.

You will get the hang of it. Keep going forward and NEVER look back!

For the first hour I watch TV, I am only allowed to watch if I am exercising at the same time. After I have put in an hour, then I'm allowed to sit and watch. Maybe a similar rule would help you. Try starting with 15 straight minutes, then move it up!

I hear ya! I always have excuses and I am trying to put them aside. I read a post one day that said "no matter how busy you are there is someone busier working out right one". I felt like a turd and got on the treadmill. No excuses, just one day at a time!
