I haven't done a blog recently because I have been bitten by a bug! The 5k bug
I was so scared that I wouldn't be able to walk the 5k, then when I did I loved it! I have been hitting the trail every day now and I have fallen in love with the trail. There have even been days where I went 10 miles with only a 15 min break for a picnic lunch! WooHoo!
As for the surprises...I decided to do the @ home fitness test (push-ups, crunches, steps) I completely bowled myself over with the results! I was able to do 48 push-ups/ min, 42 crunches/min and after 3 min of steps my heart rate was 91! The results were way above average for a 35 year old woman! Hallelujah!
Tractors...my arch nemesis! I was heading to the store on foot via "my" trail. I was chugging right along be-bopping to my own rhythm when out of no where comes this huge tractor! It has an attachment hooked to it's right side which is mowing down the foliage at the sides of the trail. The other side has about a 6 inch wide space between the hideous beast and the gully. My only choice is squeeze through or turn around and take the street to the store. I decided to squeeze through, but my foot slipped on the wet grass and I twisted my foot. The evil tractor driver leans out of his door to ask if I'm ok, but he can't hold back his laughter. I was so embarrassed that I stomped my way out of the mud and grumbled all the way to the store! Then I had to call my husband and beg him to pick me up because my foot was throbbing! GRRRR!
As for the craziness, my day is crammed full of stuff. I've been cleaning and organizing everything! Then there is my kids...Homework time is a nightmare! I have to help my littlest one with first grade math and spelling, then on to my daughter's middle school funky new math (I HATE the lattice multiplication!) Then onto high school Algebra! My head is spinning by dinner time then I am SO ready for bed! Why did I think it would be better to have my kids so far apart?
All in all...I have been busy, but I really can't complain all that much! I am grateful for every last bit of my crazy life! I am truly blessed!
