Little girl emulate their mamas… Mine works out.
That’s my daughter, Calissa Avery. She could count to 10 before most kids, now she can count to 20 with no problem because she is my work out buddy, she counts my reps. She lays out a blanket on the floor and folds it to look like my yoga mat. She asked for 1 lbs weights when I bought my 15 pounders… how could I say no? This morning she put on my weight training gloves and very excitedly told me ‘mama, its time to workout out!’
I adore her! She makes me proud everyday. Her actions prove to me that I am who I have always wanted to become. That I am the healthy mother, who snacks on healthy foods, and takes her vitamins, and drinks lots of water. I love my mother but she most definitely raised me with 'do what I say not what I do' and THAT was not the type of mama I wished to be someday. My someday is now and everyday my child is proof that I have become exactly what I set out to be. My daughter is kind, imaginative, thoughtful, helpful, creative, organized, she is active, she loves her friends, she loves to snuggle, and treats her pets like family. I am proud to be the kind of women she one day will out do. I am confident she will be a better version of her father and mother. She will be Calissa Avery, confident in who she is, loved, and happy. Which I believe, truly, is the only goal parents should have for raising their children... a better version of themselves, an improvement on this world, one child at a time.
