Week 3 of Peak313 Challenge

Monday, September 24, 2012

I can't believe that it's already the start of week 3 for the Peak313 Challenge! I love having the support of the members of the Peak313 Challenge SparkTeam! They are such and amazing group of women. We have decided to continue the SparkTeam even after the challenge ends, and create our own challenges.

I've been doing great exercise-wise. The other day I went to a friend's and we walked together. Then we went to a parking garage that has 5 levels and ran the stairs 10 times. It was a great workout! It's fun breaking away from the usual stuff and trying something new. She's a fun friend to workout with because we each push each other! I did three week straight of the Insanity schedule. However, I was noticing that I wasn't feeling sore or anything afterwards (getting too used to the 39-42 minute workouts?) so this week I have been switching it up (using Bob Harper, Amy Dixon, and Michelle Dozois DVDs) and I am noticing some muscle soreness again! On Thursday would be the day that "month 2" of the Insanity calendar starts, so I will do those again (they are longer, about an hour) and see how it goes. If I feel like I need to switch it up after a couple weeks I will. I have all of my workouts planned in a planner that I use just for workouts. I love being able to just get up and know which one I'm doing. I used to sit in front of my shelf of workouts and think "Hmmm... Which one should I do?" looking at each one and wasting time. It doesn't take very long to plan out a couple months at a time, and I write it out in pencil in case I need to make modifications to the schedule.

Eating wise, I'm doing ok. I'm counting points (Weight Watchers). Some days though I go through too many points! But, it's still within my weekly allowance, and I never have to dip into any of my "activity" points, so I guess that it's fine! Some days are just a little harder than others. I need to go to the store and stock up again when I am off on Wednesday, so it's going to be a little challenge until then. I've been getting pretty creative though!

Just wondering if anyone has thought of a verse to memorize for the coming week since the challenge is over yet we want to continue. This is truly the first group I've been active in and I'm still learning how it all works. I do appreciate your posts on the team blog. emoticon

I have been doing horrible with workouts. I need to change it up so I'm excited about the workouts again. I'm considering trying the Breathless workout. Where did you buy it? Can it be bought at Walmart or Target? Or is it one of those workouts that you can only get through Amy Dixon's website or Amazon?

Way to go Erin. You are doing an awesome job. Glad that you found something to add variety to your workouts. I think it is wonderful to have friends to work out with. I so wish I had some here but right now my 14 yr. old is my partner. She does the workouts but she is not all that excited about it, LOL.

I am loving the challenge and the team. This week's scripture and key really hit home for me. I am determined to conquer the cravings. I really like Lysa's idea to turn those moments into a path of prayer, brick by brick.
Have a wonderful week. emoticon
