I'm taking the first steps to do something better for myself. So far, I've been doing this nearly two weeks...which is about tied with the longest I've ever done a weight loss program. I'm thinking this one will stick.
What I've learned so far:
1) I really know nothing about nutrition. I love the calculator function and the analyzer at the end of the day to see where my calories went and what I've been eating. Turns out that my carbs have been out of control. Protein, here I come!
2) Exercise is fun--when I get points to do it. I'm amazed at the pep talks I'm able to give myself in order to get on the bike every day or to take a walk. If I don't get my points, then I don't get to spin the wheel or get to the next points level.
3) Every bite counts. I'm not fooling myself into thinking that if I write down 3 Oreos, but really chowed down on 6 that it made no difference. Seeing the numbers and holding myself accountable has been great. I've made it into a bit of a game.
4) This isn't going to happen overnight. I didn't gain the weight in one sitting. I'm not going to lose it after one workout. But I can make small changes that will have a big impact.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to fill my water glass. Five points are on the line.
