Weighed In and taking it 'in stride'

This morning after I used the restroom and before I ate anything I decided to weigh myself for the first time in months. I did not weigh myself all summer since I knew I was not even attempting to get my butt into gear about this weight loss. I tried Weight Watchers Points Plus on-line back in March about one month after our daughter was born and was trying to log in what I ate plus my exercise. And after the first two weeks I was down 4 lbs from 227 to 223. So it works but I was not committed mentally. And then we traveled up to my parents house for a baby shower they were throwing for our daughter because I live 500 miles away from all of my friends and family in Southern California. (Did I mention that I really don't like SoCal...I am a Northern California girl all the way, though after being back recently in August some of the people are a bit hicksville to me now. lol But I digress.)

So I am spending $18 per month for Weight Watchers on line that I am not using right now. And then I start Spark People again because it is free plus they have a really great support from their on-line community of members. My BF also got me a Wii Fit for Christmas last year and that too I used up until a point, it was when my daughter was really little and she would take short 1.5 hour naps before waking up and wanting attention as well as feeding. All I can say is that finding me time was tough the first 5 months after she was born. I weight about 200 lbs when I found out I was 8 weeks pregnant at the doctors and ate whatever I wanted, which then I gained 48 additional pounds when I finally had my daughter. So I lost 20 but not the 28 plus the other 60 lbs. I felt pretty defeated because I needed to find some sort of exercise program that will push my body past its comfort zone. And in the past that has what generally worked with me.

Then by accident or fate I joined Stroller Strides (more liked pulled into it just because I was walking at time when there was a class going on at the park) and it has been the catalyst to get me motivated and do more than get me to have that determination I need to stick to my goals at all costs. Stroller Strides really saved me in the terms of pushing me past my comfort zone in the area of fitness, as well as the area of getting out of my shell and making new friends. It is fitness group designed for moms and their babies/toddlers where you work out with your kids in those jogger type strollers. You get the support you need from other moms and your babies are right there with you getting entertained. I love it love it love it! My Stroller Strides meets at this park I go to 6 days a week! You are outside in the sun and trees, which also makes for great mood lifter. Not to mention my class instructor rocks! You train in a circuit style, walking/running plus three stations along the route where we do strength training intervals. I only just started in the beginning of September and it is about $60 month for unlimited class sessions. It is so worth it though!
