Evening snacking is my undoing!

Sunday, September 23, 2012

I have been doing so good with my fitness. I set the goal of working out every other day and have done that. But there is no movement on the scale. I'm pretty sure it is due to my evening eating. It is such a habit to sit in front of the TV and munch out. So then I moved myself upstairs so I was not near the kitchen. So then I started keeping snacks in my room. So, I have to come up with a new habit while watching TV. Maybe I will try drinking tea or chewing gum.

Also, and I guess I should have thought of this before now. When I set the goal of working out every other day before, and accomplished it for a 3 month period, it did nothing for my bloodwork results. So, why would I pick it as my new goal? When I stopped working out completely (since those 3 months did nothing for my overall bloodwork measured health) and tracked my carbs about 3-4 days a week, my bloodwork came back fantastic (well, for me, not for a normal weight person). My triglycerides were down the lowest they have been.

So, perhaps I need a new goal. I think I am going to say that everyday I have to either count my carbs (keep a food diary with carbs and calories written down AND keep carbs under 200) OR exercise. Should I work in a day off? Should I say I have to do 3 days of exercise and 3 days of food diary/carb counting then one day off. Or should I just leave it either or? Hmmm...I have to think about it some more.

But the just working out is not working out!

why not do your exercise and use your down/after workout to have your snack & vegg out? They say its a good time to eat something after you work out so lol go crazy & take em both on? Best of luck & kick butt!

I have the same problem. So make sure that the snacks you have in the evening are healthy snacks and have more protein than carbs. Proteins will help curb your appetite. Still new at this myself but this seems to work for me. I also save my snack calories and drink protein drinks in the evenings. I like Adkins or Special K. emoticon emoticon
