By preparing ahead last night, I was ready to hit the trail this morning for about 4 miles of mostly walking. Since my training was derailed most of the summer due to multiple excuses, I am starting over with the walking and will add running once I've got a few miles under my belt. I did run a little today because I couldn't help myself - it was just what I needed to realize that I've got to get rid of a big chunk of this weight.

So, I will keep walking, probably for most of the coming week, and will begin adding intervals by Saturday.

And I'm going to keep on with the "Smarter Science of Slim" food plan - high quality proteins, non-starchy vegetables and some low fat high protein/low carb dairy products. I lost 2 lbs. this week by doing eating by this plan, so am hoping to keep it up.

This puttering around is getting on my nerves. Real progress seems elusive, but I certainly understand that is all up to me.

    emoticon on losing those 2 lbs. this week! I know you can do this because, if you couldn't, you wouldn't have lost anything. All you have to do is keep doing it until it becomes natural.
