Today around 5pm, I found out that I didn't get the internship. So that's about 6 graphic design interviews since May without any job from it. This time it was worse, because one, there was only one other candidate, and two... it means that people won't even let me work for free...
I decided after that email to go run.
I went two intervals into my training, and I decided to walk a 5k instead. I walked the 5k in under 50 minutes making my average walking speed 15:45 per mile. I know I said this a few days ago, but I think I'm gonna rest my legs next week instead of the training. I thought my feet were good (or maybe I justified it that way so I'd have an excuse to run), but the first lap it was more leg pain than being out of breath. So letting my feet heal may have to be an option.
I believe I went running, because it's something I can control at this point in my life, or walking is something I can control. Me getting a job lies solely in the hands of the person in charge. I get told that my packaging is amazing every interview. However packaging design jobs are usually reserved for people with experience. That's a pretty depressing catch 22 :-P
Tonight I'm making another motivation chart. A running one. I'm gonna take a little "trip" from Charleston, SC to Los Angeles California. I wanna see how long it takes to run from Point A to Point B over the next few years. I'll include this chart in my next WUB.
Next week's BLC 16 challenge is one I will have to get my first imperfect score on. The rainbow of Fruits/Vegetables challenge will just have to skip a season for me. I did it last season, but this season we have no blue/purple foods. I also need to stop stressing over a perfect score and focus on challenging myself. Life won't end if I don't eat blueberries :-P
But to my team, you should totally attempt it if you can! This season you don't even have to watch your sodium alongside it (that was TORTURE!), it's interesting to eat the rainbow, and it forces you to eat healthier. I'll list my 5 fruits/vegetables each day still.
Today I was 286 this morning, I'm hoping the scale goes down a little more tomorrow so I can have just a teeny tiny loss. I'll take anything at this point. While walking my 5k I was looking for someone's lost diamond ring around the track because there was a $300 reward for it. I didn't find it, but if I did I would have felt a lot better.
