Today I rode my good bike for the first time in over a month. It was chilly and windy but my friend Ellen and I got 23 miles this morning. It was so strange to be on that bike again. It is so light, I almost fell off it at first! I ride my cheap mt bike to school every day, because it takes the potholes on College Ave. better...but it's a much heavier bike. Anyway, we had a lovely ride, and I haven't ridden with her all summer so it was nice to catch up too. She is doing a century in a couple weeks, so she was happy to get out there too. I brought 2 water bottles and one of them was filled with half OJ and half water. Another rider told me she did that and I thought it sounded good so I do it too! Just for the longer rides, to keep some simple carbs flowing in during exercise.
My eating has been pretty good this week. Today I had PB&Banana on a bagel for b-fast, mac & cheese and broccoli/celery for lunch, popcorn and an apple for snack, and for dinner I made cheese ravioli with marinara sauce, green beans, and a salad. My youngest daughter begged me to bake brownies tonight, so I made a Spark brownie recipe that we are about to try.
Looking back at my fitness log, I don't think I did enough this week, so next week hopefully I will kick it up a notch. My classes have me stressed and losing sleep right now, so maybe using that time to go walking instead would be good. My foot feels like crap though, but maybe I'll just ice it and I won't feel a thing. :/
