Just back from a fabulous long day at Hampton Court Palace, where the wall tapestries in the Great Hall elicited a WOW from me and many others. They are woven with gold and silver thread and apparently are worth more than the Crown jewels. When you consider that they were made 5 centuries ago, and they still sparkle when the light catches them, they are truly amazing.
A lovely hour long run around the outside of the walls on Friday evening (MyMaps calculated at 6.4k, but could be nearer 7k) and I felt EPIC. This set me up for an evening of good food, great wine and even better company with my lovely husband Eddie on our 5th wedding anniversary. Oh, and I must mention the naturalised parrots and budgies spotted, plus a green woodpecker, and "squiggles" aka squirrels (renamed courtesy of gorgeous grandson Ryan).
I took loads of photos. We ate too much today, but not rubbish, and I'd granted myself a pass. The choices were the best possible given the available options, the only thing that troubled me was the lack of water I drank.
The weather was glorious, and we were in short sleeves yesterday/today. September and October often have "bonus" sunny days, that make me glad and give thanks.
