I love to bicycle, even if I have nowhere in particular to go. I haven't had a bike in 6 years, so last night my husband and I bought bicycles. He wants to get back in shape and put on a few pounds in the process. I want to slim down and lose a LOT of pounds. Either way, it will be good for both of us.
I went on my first bike ride today. I went 1.35 miles at roughly 8 mph (10 minutes) around my neighborhood. I was winded when I finished. Pathetic.
I used to ride my bike miles and miles everyday. I lived in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario and I would ride my bike to school and work and around other places. I rode miles and miles in a day at least 4 days a week. I was in the best shape I have ever been in.
I know I will get there again, but it is so frustrating that I can't still ride like that!
On a brighter note, I get to add a sticker to my workout chart today for having worked out for 10 minutes. Hooray for reaching my goal! That's three stickers closer to a new pair of running shoes...
