One of my teams set up the challenge to blog about why I want to lose weight, a good idea since I've just entered a couple of 5% challenges. So, here I am! However, since I've been fighting this "weight thing" for over 20 years (6 of them on SP) and still haven't done it, here's the real question:
Do I want to lose weight? The "why" should come after the "if," right?
So, let's see where I get with this ramble.
First, I have lost weight, a lot of it, but I did it with a weight-loss surgery in 1989 (and that took me to 175 fairly quickly.) Now, here I sit again at 170--getting all set to lose my 5% and move on to victory. That would be the Victory that has eluded me for 20+ years, with me as a willing participant.
But, I do want to lose weight for a number of reasons:
1) My knees and other joints are crying (again) as I've regained 20 pounds in the last few months.
2) My grandchildren are young and active, and I want to be able to play with them, exercise with them, and all the fun things.
3) I want to live a healthy life for my remaining years, and I hope to have a lot of them!
So, yes, I do want to lose weight, I just haven't wanted it badly enough yet!
