Moving Again!

Saturday, September 22, 2012

June, 2010 - due to economic situation, sold our 2 acre "farm" with five bedroom house and moved to a two bedroom apartment. Waterford, ON to London, ON

September, 2011 - spent a week in a pick up truck and mini van, two adult sized boys, the cat, dear hubby and I. Upon arriving in the subarctic, bought two 2-man tents and lived in there for four nights, a camper for two nights and then managed to rent a three bedroom house.

June, 2012 - moved from three bedroom house in Thompson MB to a very tiny two bedroom apartment in Winnipeg, MB.

October, 2012 - going back to Southern Ontario! I need one day to get from here (I'm back to working in the Subarctic) to Winnipeg, then two very long days to travel home again: 10 hrs on Greyhound bus, 24 hrs driving from Winnipeg.

This may not be much to some who've moved a lot in their lives or those who've come from across the ocean, but this is a family who's never lived more than a half hour from where they were born until these adventures began! DH and I both being raised on farms, lived in the same home that we were raised in until we got married and where our parents continue to live! :)

Family is all that matters the most, losing a house is in material, even though it is sad you are all still together!!!I agreed that is an experience for the boys, years later you will be sitting around the dinner table reminiscing about this!!! Do you have to make that ride back home every time you come home?Take care

Thanks, everyone! I've enjoyed the adventure, I just wish my family was able to enjoy it too. At the very least, I think they've gotten valuable life experiences out of it and hopefully that will carry them through to a rewarding future. :)

I really don't envy you.....I used to move once a year (pre owning my house) I think I still have a couple of boxes still full from "back in the day"
I know how difficult this is for you, but I know you are a strong person and will be able to make the change (again). Hand in there and if you want to vent etc.....just spark mail me.....I'm here for you. emoticon

Moving is always hard no matter how often you do it. One of the good things about moving a lot, though, is that you tend to keep your "stuff" under control out of necessity.
