Today I slept in and spent a lazy morning at home. Yesterday I was talking with Trice about going later in the day to do our workout. Trice is a lady that I met while working out at the Y. I have really hit it off with her and several other ladies. Anyways she had a doctors appointment and I didn't get much sleep the day before so I suggested that we go in the afternoon after she saw the doctor. She called just after three in the afternoon and had decided that since it was so late she was just gonna go tomorrow morning at around nine. I am gonna go with her and I don't usually workout on Saturdays. I decided that I was still going today also. I walked 140 laps in the river. That was one solid hour of walking! I jogged about 10 laps but then started to get shin splints so I went to a fast walk. Still raising my heartbeat and sweating. I was gonna take a break after 50 laps but felt good enough to keep going so I did. Then I was gonna quit when I hit 100 but I was still feeling pretty good so I looked at the clock and realized I was almost at an hour of solid movement, so I keep going till I hit one hour! I was so proud of myself! I felt like doing a Rocky lap with my arms in the air raised and cheering myself! I then moved out into the pool and did some more exercises for another hour. Abs and stretching. The weird thing is that the more I move the more I want to continue to move.
They just refinished the pool and actually kind of screwed it up. They were supposed to be making it less slippery but instead it is more slippery. I ordered some water walkers in order to get a better grip on the floor. I have wrenched my ankles a few times and I don't want to get an injury when I have been so dedicated about getting my workout in.
Out of all the classes I take I love the water zumba the best. The instructor is kick ass! She keeps you moving and has so much energy she just makes you want to keep going. Love it. I drag my butt back to the Y every Tuesday and Thursday evening after already doing 2 hours of swimming in the morning. I wish they offered it more and also during the day. I have actually switched from water aerobics to doing the walking and I think I am getting a better workout. I am also doing my own ab exercises so I get stretching in and toning. The scale is still moving in my favor and if by the end of next week I don't level back out at my plateau spot I will update my weight here. I am looking forward to being able to do that! It has been awhile! The good thing is I haven't had to come back on and update it going in the other direction. That is a huge improvement all on it's own.
I have noticed also that I am getting a bit further when I am walking on land before I have to sit. I have not noticed as much of an improvement on land as I was hoping for but I figure if I keep moving and losing weight it will all help me move on dry land. I love being in the pool cause I can really move. That is a feeling I haven't had for a long time. It is very freeing and makes it something that I look forward to doing.
One drawback that I have come across is that swimsuits have become my new crack! I can't stop buying them. I bought two that were just to big for me but I found a couple of ladies that liked them and passed them on. I have two more ready to pass on also. I just ordered one in bright orange and flowers! Can't wait till it gets here. The best thing is that I have gotten them all on sale and for a real reasonable price.
Oh and one other thing although this has gotten to be a bit longer than it started out to be, is that I fit into my old suit that I didn't fit when I started! So even though I just started seeing the pounds coming off the inches are definitely going! Yeah me!
