NO MOTIVATION OR ENERGY

Friday, September 21, 2012

AS I SIT HERE AT WORK, I'M WONDERING TO MYSELF WHERE DID ALL MY ENERGY AND MOTIVATION GO? IT'S BEEN MISSING FOR AT LEAST A MONTH WITH NO RETURN IN SIGHT. MAYBE ALL MY ENERGY WENT TO SCHOOL AND WORK BUT IT SEEMS LIKE IT DON'T EVEN DO THAT MUCH SCHOOLWORK OR WORK WORK. MAYBE MY ENERGY LEFT WITH MY MOTIVATION, I HAVE A STRANGE FEELING ENERGY IS TIED TO MOTIVATION. HOW DOES ONE REALLY GET MOTIVATED? I HATE ALL THE WEIGHT I HAVE GAINED AND HOW TIGHT MY PANTS FEEL. I EVEN HATE THE FACT THAT I DON'T HAVE ENERGY TO DO ANYTHING. BUT THAT DOESN'T SEEM LIKE THAT IS ENOUGH TO MAKE ME GET OFF MY BUTT AND DO SOMETHING.

Sounds like you may be dealing with some signs of depression. I am not a doc and am not diagnosing you, nor am I trying to be mean. But this is exactly what I felt like when I first started noticing my depression (when I was 12). I had no energy for anything and only did what I had to do, and this progressed as I aged. I kept finding that after work and school I just felt blah and wanted to lay down. I would say, tomorrow I am going to get up and work out, but I never did. I had gym equipment in my house for a full gym and always walked by it. And it looked at me like it was mad at me all the time.

So, we need to find a way to cheer you up, or a goal that you are excited about that will get you motivated. I CAN tell you that once I did get off my duff and started doing little exercises (leg lifts and stuff like that), I started noticing a change in my thighs, so then I got a little excited and added stationary cycling and then I got more results. So my motivation is result driven, but you HAVE to start somewhere.

And even when I hate the thought, I still put on some shorts and a tank top and just TRY to work out. Usually if I put that much effort into it, I will keep it up. But you have to find what works for you.

Good luck, and I am sending motivating thoughts your way!
