Something unusual....

Last night we attended my stepdaughters' graduation. They had platters and platters of sweet goodies.....which was meant primarily for the students but the parents fell on everything and devoured most of it....

Anyway, husband and I arrived far too early by mistake. We were invited to partake of the goodies and the tea or coffee, but we just sat down. I was surrounded by sweets that normally I would have least LOOKED at (since it's my trade) but I didn't even have the desire to do that. I just noticed how good everything smelled and forgot about it. That's rare...can't remember when I last just sat when surrounded by goodies. Wasn't even tempted. So nice that the cravings are gone since it's not good for my stomach in so many ways. I've even been buying little mini-pies for my husbands' desserts and those don't whisper my name. Hope this lasts.....

The chicken is still messy. We had a snooze today on the sofa with him snuggled up under my chin. Husband is giving me gentle "you know you aren't going to keep him" lectures - I don't blame him. My daughter raised a squirrel kit years ago and the good thing is that wild creatures stay wild. You might think they're tame, but a certain point comes where it's just time to let them go. Past then it's cruel to keep them confined.

    You are a strong woman! Most of the times I can bypass the delicacies but I still have the moments when I MUST taste. The good news is I don't binge or go overboard. But yesterday I had a pumpkin sugar cookie from Panera and once I tracked it and discovered it was 400 calories, I was TICKED off. I think that was enough of a deterrent for me.

    I think once you stop eating sweets and don't eat them, you cease craving them. I probably would have had some of that coffee or tea though! Happy sparking!

    You are doing so well - I find that if I have a good meal before I go to something like that, I don't crave the sweet foods. Well done!

Good for you for being able to let the sweets go. Removing things from our diet does eventually lead to less of a craving for them doesn't it? I am proud of you lady! ...and happy that you are feeling better on the new diet!
