I had a wonderful birthday!!!
I have been 21, 38 times...AWESOME!!! Ken made a delicious stuffed pepper soup for our dinner today. I had a terrific visit with my chiropractor this morning and had a rib readjusted. It sure has made my breathing much easier. Plans to celebrate my birthday this weekend with my dear family. Today was a very quiet day as McKenzie's dad was "mudded out" today...meaning it was too muddy for them to be working in the wet lands area that they are preserving. As a result, I did not get to see McKenzie after school today but will see her tomorrow. We had a great time yesterday on her new tree swing and her trampoline. I am not able to jump on the trampoline until I have been released by my neurosurgeon (due to my recent brain surgery). I am not allowed to be jumping or doing anything that will shake the brain for a while. At my age these aren't things I "need" to be doing anyway. I don't feel that I "need" to be jumping on a trampoline anyway...especially as I really dislike the height issue but there are days that I do it with McKenzie. A nice walk and riding my bike are things that I really enjoy and try to do daily.
I am just happy to say that God has blessed me so greatly this year. Thank you, Lord, for the opportunity to celebrate another birthday in my earthly body with my family and friends. Thank you for walking with me daily and carry me when necessary. You have carried me when I needed you though kidney failure, hydrocephalus, brain surgery (cyst removal... benign), automobile accident, spinal contusion and other health issues...especially high blood pressure and high potassium levels...as well as when I needed you with Ken's issues and the issues of other family members and friends as I helped them as much as possible.
I praise the Lord that I have been blessed with a great family, both at home and in Sparkland!!! I had a friend say to me once..."How does it feel to be another year older?" I smiled and said, "A year...seems like just yesterday I was younger." (laughing)
Our healthy lifestyle is definitely about taking just one day at a time!!! Since we never know what tomorrow will bring, always be sure to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you and share your smiles, kisses and hugs with them. Have a great week and make the best choices you can.
