Early this morning my DH found that the new Sony camera he ordered was scheduled to be delivered today! Exciting!! Except -- it was being delivered to our home in the Phoenix area -- and we were 1-1/2 hours away in our mountain home. Hmmmm! What to do? We knew the Fed Ex would probably leave the box sitting by our front door, and even though we feel we're in a "good" neighborhood, a small box containing an expensive camera is a big temptation.
Being a Sweetheart, I offered to drive down. The only string attached to that offer was that I would spend the night in our home down there -- no back and forth trip for me and it would give me a chance to watch some of my recorded movies -- maybe paint a bit, and just generally have a 'change of pace' for my day. Not liking the "overnight" part of that,my husband wailed "But I'll Miss You! I'll be lonely!" I just smiled.
Next problem came when Amber saw me getting out my cosmetic case -- it meant a "trip" and if Mom was going, then SHE must be going. There was lots of running back and forth, tail wagging and little talky noises. Big excitement, going for a ride. When the word "no" came out of my mouth, she couldn't believe it -- Mom was going without her!
DH told me she spent the afternoon laying with her nose pointed toward the front door, patiently waiting for Mom to come home. Hmmm, I wonder how the evening walk went?
