Today was day 14 of S90 and LEGS. I got up and did the workout prior to breakfast and found that I struggled a bit with a noted lack of energy. LEGS continues to be a challenge for me. I do see my legs getting more defined and toned but I am not noticing a huge increase in strength. I still have a hard time doing lunges with the 6 lb weights, which is frustrating considering the 12 lb weights feel too light for sumo squats and dead lifts. Those darn lunges get me every time. However I WILL conquer them someday. I just don't know when, LOL! After I had some breakfast and some quality kindle time I woke up Gunn and we went to a small lake in our area, one we didn't even know about until yesterday, and spent over an hour hiking the hilly trails along and around the lake. Our dog had a blast and wanted so badly to chase the ducks! We saw a beautiful crane that took wing just as we came within 10 feet of him and he was so graceful. It was very peaceful and we only encountered one other person our whole time there. We stopped at a picnic bench by the boat launch and had some fruit and string cheese. The dog splashed around in the water some more and then we headed back home, happy to have found a new place to play and hike and give our dog a fun outing and a good workout. Boy do my legs feel it! Today was definitely all about working those legs.
All in all it has been a pleasant day. We are having an awesome indian summer here in Seattle and Gunn wore shorts today. That is unprecedented, wearing shorts in the 3rd week of September! I was in jeans but only needed a t-shirt, my fleece jacket eventually wrapped around my waist. Now to heat up some good leftover peachy pork chops and make a salad and we will plant our butts down for the evening. I hope my sparkfriends had a good day also and that you enjoy your evening wherever you are and whatever the weather!
