Non-scale related improvements

Ok, so the SparkCoach suggested I write a blog about things I'm noticing now that I've been on track a little while that isn't related to the number on the scale. Since I'm only weighing weekly now, it really IS important that I take a look at other things.
One of the improvements I'm feeling is a lessened stress over my weight. This is primarily because I am not depressing myself on a daily basis with a new number that may not show great progress. During daily weigh-ins, it's easy to dismiss a tiny loss as the result of a good bowel movement (sorry tmi!) :) Number changes that happen weekly are a little bit more indicative of the general trend.
But I know that's not exactly what SC was talking about. It's the fact that the legs of my jeans are less stretched when I put them on. You know how they can be plastered to you when you first put them on, but as the day progresses and they loosen? They're starting to feel that kind of loosened when I first put them on. It's not a huge drooping waistband or anything, but I do notice it.
I also feel less droopy. As I have gained weight, I just feel the flab eeking out everywhere, as if it cannot be contained. Now I'm starting to feel the slightest bit of retraction.
On the negative side, I overdid my pushups and I'm still feeling a bad pain when I move certain ways. I'm ok with the slow stiffness and soreness when I have exercised in a new way. It's the pain that makes me queasy that I can do without.
But this isn't a whine post, so I'm gonna go now. :)
