Just came home from the Green Moutain Tour. 424 miles in the Green Moutains of Vermont. Mostly followed the Adventure Cycling Assocation Green Mountain Tour maps. Made a couple of unintentialy route changes as the loop should have been 360 miles.
The great thing about cycling vacations is that you always come home feeling like you've accomplished something when you've come home. Unfortuntely, the leaves did not start to change but I couldn't have order better weather or scenery along the way. Got to see deer, turkey, porcipine, blue heron and other water foul along the way.
There were just 3 of us on the trip so there were no crowds to contend with along the way. Vermont and New Hampshire are very bicycle friendly areas and it was nice to see other loaded tourest along the way. Normally don't see that that but I believe part of the route we were riding is along a common US coast to coast route.
Will need to start looking for another ride for next year. If one thing this ride taught us that you need to do more upfront planning when you go the unspported route.
