Day 10 of the rest of my life

Today is not at all what I have expected! I can do this......I can do this......I can do this!!!!

Because of the storms, we got an unexpected day off from school!! Yippee!!! No power at school means "free day"!!! Hubby has to go to work, so I am alone.....a nice quiet day, peaceful, unexpected, yaaaaaaay.

I decide I will get a good GOOD workout in, I get into sweats, I do what chores need to be done, and jump on the treadmill. It's right next to the washer, so lugging the clothes downstairs, filling washer, and I got 30 minutes undisturbed, I turn on the headphones, some good music will keep me pumped, MP3 player is not working......hmmmmm , oh well, I jump on the treadmill, go about 3 minutes and loud thumping screeching noises out of it.......hmmmmm turn off, turn on, again wicked noises and maybe a little smoke??? ok, so a few toe touches, a walk in the yard with the dog, now laundry is switched.

Back to the family room, I'm gonna do the wii fit instead. In the storm last night tv got fried, yaaay. I'm still trying to be optimistic, going to the track. Off to the car to go to the track........flat tire.......not liking today so much.

This is real life, normally, after all of this, I would make a grilled cheese, have a seat, feel sorry for myself, and sulk. Today, I turn the radio on loud.....LOUD....and I just finished washing windows in the sun room. Anything not glued down as been washed, dried, ironed, disinfected, swept, mopped, and in some cases thrown out! How's that for a workout!!! I'm pretty proud of me and my crappy day turnaround!

What's amazing is a year ago it never would have happened. I may not lose weight fast, and I keep playing with the same 10 lbs, but I am slowly and steadily learning and making changes.

    That sounds like there were a lot of problems in your day today - but you did a great job instead! There are a lot of changes we can make besides food & exercise choices! Keeping your head up and moving forward is one of them!
