Staying on Track

Wednesday, September 19, 2012

I'm trying to figure out why I have a great stretch of sticking to my eating and exercise plan, and then one day it just falls apart. It is so frustrating to finally get the scale moving, and then blow it in a few hours. I try to talk to myself, repeating my mantras, but for some reason, I just blow it anyway. Today, I'm trying again, after loosing it last night. Sometimes I think it's when my routine changes, I have no control. Last night, we came home on the train in a bad storm and I went straight home instead of going to the barn. On my way home, I stopped and bought some M&Ms, and that seemed to set things off.

I'm back on track today, went for a 30 minute walk with Max this morning.

This one choice doesn't undo the 50 good ones you have made. You wanted some M&M's, your allowed. Now you just need to realize buying a bag of them doesn't mean eating a bag of them, and so what if you did. Just track it. If you have to write it down and be accountable to yourself then there is no guilt. Somedays will be easier but nothing good worth having was ever easy.

Just keep fighting up the good fight.
