Living By The Spirit

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Oh Father, I come before Your throne this morning to hear Your voice, to spend time with You; to come to know You more. You are my God. There is none beside You. It is from You that I receive the words of life. I yield to You this morning. Have Your way in me today. Calm my anxious soul and speak hope and direction to my heart. For You are the One that I praise!

“Do not let your heart be troubled, Child. Look unto Me for I am your hope of salvation. There is no other way but Mine. Seek Me with all your heart and you will find Me. I am near; closer than a brother. I am within you. Follow and I will lead you. Do not look to the right or to the left. Look only unto Me. You are My child and I will lead you by My Spirit within. Lean not on your own understanding, but trust in Me. I know all things that will transpire in your life. I know the road ahead of you and what obstacles you will encounter. Your best interest is in My heart. I will not leave you to walk that road alone. Lean on Me, for I am your strength and salvation. Trust My judgment for I know what is best for you.”

One of the hardest lessons for me in life has been learning to lean on the Lord and not on my own understanding. I was taught to be self-sufficient. If something was to get done it would be my responsibility to see that it is done. My life has been one that required hard work and diligence on my part in order to provide for myself and my children. So, it seems that at times I try to continue directing my own course, looking for my own thoughts and working under my own power and ability. Many times God has had to remind me of who is in control in my life. It's Him, not me. I get my orders from my Commander in Chief. He is the Great Shepherd of my soul and it's in Him that I trust!

Trying to do things in our own effort - this has been a struggle for all since Adam tried to cover his sin by his own efforts!!

Thank you Avanell for another great lesson and your testimony. I think each of us have tried to do things on our own, knowing after all we have to rely and lean on the Lord. It is through Jesus that all things are possible and I too am living on my own and at times feel I can't handle situations. I realize it is through our wonderful Jesus and Holy Spirit that walk us through situations. Thank you for reminding us that we can't do it alone. I have a poster on my bedroom door that says "The Lord and I make a perfect team. I know where I've been and He knows where I'm going." I am relying on His leadership and guidance. God bless you for sharing. Thank you for your comments and goodie.

Avanell, another lovely teaching that I can certainly relate to...especially your own testimony in the last paragraph. This is me also...I have to stop and regroup and ask the Lord what it is that HE wants me to do or say.

Thank you for all your insight and teaching. We will all be learning until the day He comes for us or we leave the earth through sleep. THANKS so very much!

I had gotten so tired of doing things on my own, I have learned to lean only on my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and He will and has fought my battles. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

So lovely, Avanell. Please listen and share so others do not doubt the Good Shepherd leads His flock into green pastures and calls them by name. He is alive and gives us the same devotion as He did to His chosen ones when He walked the earth. The Holy Sprit is alive and well. Tell others of Him!

Thanks for the updates, goodie and note. I can't tell you how imortant this is to not only myself but others who might just be reading and not commenting.

May we always know who the Commander-in-Chief realyl is and we are in subjection, with respect, to Him!
