Comments:
I bounced back from wk 7's missed runs (one being the long 12 mile). I ran to my bf's mom's house! Although sharing a road with little to no shoulder is very intimidating. I do not think I will do that again. Something about people in cars now a days. Still I was so happy that I did it. I knew if I could do this 14 that I'd feel back on track with my training and I was right! Very good.

Comments:
First - On my 7 mile I was crossing the street when someone thought it would be funny to rev their engine as I passed by the front of their over sized truck. Seriously?! Is all I could think. It may have been funny to him but it wasn't funny to me.

Second - I thought I was going to die at the end of my 16. I don't know if its because I have several big hills on my training course or not. Good thing is, I have a more positive outlook on running another 16 miles next Monday because I know I can do it since I did it last week. The whole 26.2 thing is starting to kind of freak me out! It's all coming into perspective for me with each long run I do.

Third - I do not time myself or wear a watch when I run. I don't like feeling pressure of a time limit. Will I be disappointed if it takes me longer than 5 hours to complete this marathon...maybe.

OMG, if you feel DISAPPOINTED at all about anything when you FINISH A MARATHON I am going to come over there and slap you up side the head!!!!!
See those capitalized words? Yeah, they don't belong in the same sentence! Nonsense Nikki! You're going to be PROUD of yourself when you finish that marathon and nothing else better matter at all!

You are seriously rocking this training. I know week 7 was rough for you, but look at how you bounced back and have been seriously kicking a$$! You're on fire girl!! Don't look to far ahead at the miles. Focus on what is right in front of you and just keep going!

Sometimes I don't think you have any idea how much of an inspiration you are to so many of us!! You are emoticon !! emoticon emoticon

I'm sooooo proud of you, Nikki! You're doing so great!
Don't let the number freak you out. Think about what you thought of 16 miles when you started running. I'm sure it seemed difficult and now it's been added to your accomplishments!

Wow, you're serious. Don't worry about the final distance, after a certain point (at least in cycling) if you can do 70% of the distance prior to the event, you typically won't have a problem completing the whole thing, just pacing, pacing, pacing. Keep up the great work!

WOW Nikki! You are getting in some mileage. I am really proud of you:) Doing activities on the road make me nervous too. That driver was an @ss! Be careful babe.
