As part of the first challenge of BLC 20, I'm supposed to blog my 12 week plan for success. I have to say, this has really been a difficult for me this time. Its easy for me to come up with a plan. On the other hand, trying to come up with ways to keep myself from sabotaging the plan is harder.
The first thing I thought about was what sort of a fitness plan I could have that I would stick with. I realized that part of what causes me to fail is often my unpredictable work schedule. Any plan that involves organized classes or scheduled times just won't work for me. I also discovered that I need to have something that is part of an organized program. After all of this thinking, here's what I've come up with:
* Weeks 1-6: I will be doing the Slim in 6 program
* Weeks 7-10: I will be doing Jillian's Ripped in 30
* Final weeks: Starting one of the other Beachbody programs that I have...
As a supplement, when I have the time, my goal will be to make it to at least 1 yoga or Pilates class at the gym each week.
To help with consistency, I will be sure to have my exercise clothing in one place ready to go at the beginning of the week. I'm also working on my mindset...Just taking that first step each day and the rest will follow....
Nutrition is usually a bit easier for me. Though I have a husband and kids, they really don't give me a hard time about what I eat. They're not necessarily supportive as far as not bringing poor choices in the house, but that usually doesn't bother me. Keeping foods that I like around seems to help.
For the first few weeks, I'm working on making some foods ahead of time. I'd like to get in the habit of having my lunch foods ready to pack at the beginning of the week. Sundays usually aren't too busy for me unless I get called into work, so I shouldn't have a problem doing this.
Once I get a handle on that, I'm going to try a round of the Whole30 program. I just bought the book and want to finish reading it before starting. I will then make up some meal plans so I don't have to think about what I can grab to eat. That's one thing that I have found about myself...if I plan out my meals ahead of time, I do much much better. I just have to build in some flexibility in case I'm stuck at work with no access to food.
Well, that's my plan in a nutshell. I'm not great at writing about myself and my plans, and have a thousand other thoughts in my head. But who wants to hear all that?? LOL
