105 days to go Ďtil the New Year according to my freebie iPhone app. Iíve been MIA for the last couple of weeks as the semester gets underway. I always, always underestimate the amount of time and effort it takes to get things off the ground every semester. You would think after 15 years, I would know betterÖ
My workouts were going great, and I was keeping up them religiously until this last week. I was on week 7 of Catheís STS weight lifting series. I could see noticeable differences in my body in those 7 weeks. On Thursday, I did back and triceps. I increased by back weight by 3 pounds from 12 to 15-pound weights. I was sooooo proud of myself; everything was going along so well. Then it happened, the twinge in the small of my back that told me to stop. So, I did. Unfortunately, it was too late. The rest of the day I could feel the muscle hurting more and more. By Friday morning, I could barely get out of bed. I went to the doctor where I got muscle relaxants and was told to use ICYHOT. If it doesnít get better, I have to go back to the doctor. Well, here it is Monday morningÖ Iím still feeling very sore. However, I think Iím getting better. I need to do some exercise or I get so stiffened up, I canít move at all. The older I get, the longer it takes to get my body to recover. I didnít think I was over doing itóI had built up graduallyóbut my body begs to differ.
Hopefully, this is just a minor setback and Iíll be able to get on with my workouts again soon. I want to be in great shape for the Christmas in Mexico!
