Ruffled Hoop Skirt

Monday, September 17, 2012

This blog posting is all thanks to BONOLICIOUS2 who asked me to post a pic since she knew I was going bonkers from sewing miles and miles of ruffles by hand.

Yesterday I finally finished sewing miles and miles of ruffles by hand to create my very first beautiful ball gown hoop skirt slip!

This is only a three ring hoop...after I go and put pockets into some of my older skirts I am going to get to work sewing a five ring ruffled hoop slip for a ballgown. I have been invited to a Victorian Christmas Ball this December. So excited!!

My sister and I were talking yesterday. She said that she's not sewing anything for herself until she gets on maintainance. YOUR skirt looks FAB! Hopefully the cooler weather is treating you more kindly!

WOW!!! That is so awesome! My mom could have done something like that when I was younger. Sewing is something I wish she had passed down to me, but alas, I have no sewing experience. Perhaps I'll take a summer and learn. In the meantime, I can certainly appreciate something as totally rad as your 3-ring hoop skirt! Super cool!
