Every morning I log onto the computer to visit SparkPeople and get my SparkPoints. If my login spin is good, I don't have to do so many of the other activities, but I do them anyway because it is a great way to get information and keep me out of the kitchen. I take the polls and quizzes and answer the trivia questions; I even have a reminder to go visit SparkPeople and get my SparkPoints.
It works for my competitive streak. I want those SparkPoints so I go drink water so I can click on the water glass arrow. I read blogs of other members and see where they are at in their journey because I want to find ones that entice me to post a comment. I read Insider and articles on eating. I change my status for that 1 point that will put me into that Vegas-style Bonus Spin wheel. I was forever waiting to win a SparkPeople cookbook, but they never came up as an opportunity. So I bought one.
SparkPoints is a great addition to the site for those of us who have that competitive streak. It keeps me coming back, trying my luck and getting healthy in the meantime. The big win comes as my body thanks me for making the effort and spinning the wheel.
