So this weekend was so-so, I ate a bit much on Saturday, and then better on Sunday, but didn't eat any dinner because I was running around cleaning like a mad women, and it took 3 hours to fold and put away the laundry and then it was 10pm, and said do I really want to eat now or do I just want to go to bed? I am opted to go to bed, and I wasn't hungry.

I did some yard cleaning up and lots of house cleaning this weekend and burned lots of calories, I can feel it in my legs today.

Besides working hard to keep on track with my eating this week, which is going to be a huge challenge because the period monster just came to town, and she wants to eat everything in site (cause for some of my over eating on Saturday), I am going to work on just trying to add more activity into each day, like walking the dog and working on some weeknight cleaning projects.

Since the live-ins all left for the weekend, it was nice and quite at our house. I need to make our menu for the week, so here it what I am thinking....

Monday:
Steaks with baked potatoes, brussels sprouts and a salad

Tuesday:
Crock pot chicken of some sort, with rice and maybe green beans

Wednesday:
Keema (an amazing sparkpeople recipe, everyone should check it out)

Thursday:
My lemon garlic tilipia, broccoli (maybe with a cheese sauce) and either a rice pilaf type thingy or sweet potato fries

Friday: ?? Still not sure what I will be doing on friday, maybe it will be making pizzas at home with the pre-made crusts I have because that will be supper fast and I might be canning on Friday night.

Saturday??? Even bigger question, I think, my SIL is planning on having her son's b-day on Saturday, but I am not sure what time or anything. Who knows maybe they are going to leave again this weekend???

Sunday: I think Pot Roast with potatoes and carrots, a side of veggies and maybe some fresh baked bread in my bread maker, if I am feeling really adventurous.

It looks like a good plan, but knowing how things go in our house, there is plenty of wiggle room and a few things I can make on the fly with what we have on hand.

A really awesome thing happened yesterday, I have a friend of a friend who has a decent size farm about an hour out of the city and she has a bunch of tomatoes that she needs to off load (my friend already had about 6 5 gallons buckets or so and doesn't need any more), so they were offered to me!!! I am going to can my own tomatoes for the first time!! I am also going to do some oven roasted ones (Chef Meg has a recipe for some), my friend just did some and they turned out awesome, taste just like sun dried tomatoes. I make a homemade alfredo that they will be amazing in, plus can throw them on salads and in sandwiches and all sorts of things. I am very excited to try my doing this for the first time. I help my friend can some of hers a week ago and although it is time consuming it is pretty easy.

I am going to have a busy next couple months, I have my nephews blanket to make for his b-day, he is the only one who has gotten a no-sew fleece blanket from me, and I need to get started on the girls halloween costumes, I really want to do most of it by myself and only get a very little bit of help from my friend who is like a cooler version of Martha Stewart. I mean she can do everything and makes my craftiness just seem so small...

I never really push myself though, and I think that is what I need to do to grow my talent, but time will tell, and if I find I can not do it, I know she will help me in a pinch.

Wow this really long. I want to to thank all my spark friends who take the time to read and comment on my blogs. Writing them is very therapeutic for me, gives me an outlet for some of my frustrations, and I always feel better after writing them.

    Well, tonight's dinner plan sounds awesome! I need to roast some tomatoes too. I'm overrun with them also! I don't can, just freeze. I like reading your blog for recipe ideas! Thanks! Homemade pizzas are always good. then everyone can pick their own toppings. Keep Sparking!

    Question: Some of those meals seem really rich/heavy. How will you make sure not to overeat? Will you be measuring, eating more of the veggies and less of everything else? Will you adjust the recipes to be healthier versions? No need to obsess about it being perfectly healthy, but doing better by making it a little healthier helps keep you moving forward in your healthy journey.

One thing you learned: exercise can curb hunger/munchies. As long as you know you're eating enough calories to sustain the activity, then when you're feeling snacky but not really hungry you can do some light to moderate exercse to help ease it.

Busy doesn't necessarily need to mean stressful. I hope you can find balance and use that busy to keep you from wanting to snack or do anything unhealthy. If you can work on your projects while doing some extra movement: can you make the blanket while standing up at a table and walking around it, or work on the costumes while pacing or doing small leg lifts while sitting at the sewing machine? Even if you can't track it as exercise, every bit of extra movement does help.
