Okay, this is the 'required' blog for the first week. Not that it's really required, but as I've said before, I'm a Spark points whore and want those 150 points. And putting my feelings down in writing like this makes everything seem more official.

My goal for this challenge is to lose ten pounds. I think that is doable in twelve weeks, even though we will be going through Halloween and Thanksgiving. As I read once, those are holi-days, not holi-weeks!! So I am reminding myself that one day a month of feeling like I'm missing out on something won't kill me.

The exercise is going well, for me. I've gotten to the point where I'm starting to crave that bit of movement every day. This is a good change in my life, even though it's not always good for my knees. And while I'm having surgery at the end of this week and will be in bed for the next two weeks, I won't use that as an excuse to have a food fest, especially since I won't have a way to work off extra calories. I will try to find some sort of exercise that doesn't tax my body too much.

I've already start the process of cleaning up my eating. I'm buying way less junk food ~ having 2 flavors of ice cream in the freezer isn't as law in this country, even though I've acted like it was for the last decade or so. More fruits, way less processed food.

Rewards for being strong and slogging along for twelve weeks? I'm not sure, because food has been my reward for most my life, since I was 17 and had my first job. Maybe buying new books for my Nook is the way to go, because if there is anything I like as much, or more, than food, it's reading.

I'm really looking forward to finding out if I can do this. It will be great to help my team, but it will be even greater to do this for ME!!

I love that you are feeling like you want to be more active already! emoticon

Maybe your next step is to track all your food and make your trackers public so it can keep you accountable!

I think books are awesome rewards! I have used clothes, makeup, bubble bath, massage, mani/pedi, and movies as a reward in the past. I know its hard to think of non-food items but it is possible!
