Another Sat evening

Saturday, September 15, 2012

Sat evening and here I sit all alone reflecting back on the past week. Nothing special comes to mind.
My son had a couple cross country meets so I was on the road a couple days. Believe it or not, I didnt do too bad with the eating while on the road. One day I brought some snack mix- soy nuts, pumpkins seeds, dried cranberries. Another trip I brought with some carrot sticks and then ended up buying snack mix for the ride home.
I trip also included my annual doctor visit- she ran some blood work so we will wait and see if anything shows up. I just don't understand why I have been so tired, maybe she will have some answers for me.
With the weather getting colder, I also figured it was time I check into joining a gym. I have not yet started but have it paid for, just need to get a key to get into the gym. Not sure how it will go but willing to give it a try.
As I sit here munching- I really need to find something to keep me busy when I am home alone- maybe that is where the gym will fit in.

Congrats on keeping on top of things, DeNell! Those down times can be productive-- blogging is one productive thing to do, or destructive. Laleebeen has some good suggestions indeed re the food stuff.

Puzzles do help me, too when i'm just too tired to accomplish anything 'real' but in need of something.

You inspire by your being here, thank you,
dDawn

I have the trouble of wanting to munch at night too. I try to figure out why I'm foraging. Am I bored? Tired? Lonely? If I'm truly hungry, I'll eat something. If not and I'm just staring into the fridge or a cabinet not knowing what I want, I know its not real hunger. Its just a way to fill in time. This is when I close whatever door I'm staring into and redirect myself. I'll get some water or I'll pull up an inspirational article on SparkPeople or another site. I got to tell you this doesn't always work. But I'm trying just like the rest of us.

You made some great food choices while traveling! As a traveling sports parent I know making good decisions on the road is hard. Especially when they are grilling burger's at the field or you smell something yummy while passing a drive-thru.

Here's hoping your blood work is all good! emoticon

Some books to read, puzzles, how about some DVDs to workout to?

Best of luck sweetie!

Great job with healthy snacking on your road trip
