My Promise to Myself for This 12 Week Challenge

Saturday, September 15, 2012

Well, it is time to get down to business and write out the part of the challenge where I write my 12 week plan. I have thought about this for days - ever since the challenge was posted. Where do I begin????

First of all, I guess I start with the most important part of this whole journey and that is with the sensible healthy eating and the most difficult part. I struggle most with the veggie and fruit part of my diet. I WILL incorporate more veggies and fruits into my daily diet, shooting for a minimum of 5 each day. There are so many veggies that I do not like and it is time that I found ways to fix them that I will eat them. So it is time to research and find ways to fix them so that I will eat them.

I am on a new team this year - the Forest Green Pixies - and they drink a lot of Green Pixie Punch. Now I think I will pick up on that and start to drink them and see if I can get more veggies and fruits that way. I use to drink more smoothies and don’t know where I dropped off having them daily. So out will come my Ninja and back to the smoothies and green punch.

I have gotten away from weighing and measuring my food to be accurate about the amounts that I eat. My ‘guessing’ about the accuracy is probably waaaaaay off and that is so dangerous. So out will come the food scales, measuring cups, and measuring spoons. Everything that goes on my plate will be measured and my portions will be ACCURATE.

Next will come my exercise. I love my water aerobics which I do 3 times a week faithfully. That gets me 150 minutes of aerobics and water jogging. I am thinking seriously of uping that to at least 4 days a week, maybe 5 I also plan to get out to the WalMart or Sams or Lowes and do some more cart walking. That is great. But I want to see if I can improve on being able to walk on land more. So each day, I plan to get out and walk up and down the driveway until I can start to walk up and down the block. I figure that I can add more distance every few days and build my strength.

My dedication to my team will be endless. I am experiencing being a team member instead of a leader for the first time in a long time and am thoroughly enjoying it. I will be a PIXIE with glowing wings and hang out on my branch with great dedication to all my team mates. I will do my part to make this a great team. I will participate in all the challenges and do all the requirements to all my ability.

I sat a goal at the beginning of this round. I have my heart and my eyes concentrated on that goal. I intend to do all that is within my power to reach that goal. This is a promise I make to myself and I cannot break that promist.

Good job planning on getting the scales back out! Our eyes start making portions larger.
I think the plan to add an extra day of exercise is a good one. You have to do what your body ISN'T expecting! emoticon

I already told Heather that I was glad you both are Pixies...they are lucky to have you both...and you are lucky to be together and be a Pixie!

Your goals are attainable...you start small and work your way up!

Proud of you.....

Hey Alice...these are emoticon goals...and so open and honest! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I am really impressed with your plan to get walking on land again...Walking up and down your drive for now is an excellent idea...that way if any trouble occurs you will be near the house....BUT believe you me Alice...as you keep losing weight ans as you keep moving...it DOES beome easier...
If someone had said that to me when I weighed my 248.8~~ I would have said "bull" it will never be easier....but it really does get better...
So emoticon emoticon
