At my physical last month, my doctor told me to get a blood pressure monitor and start checking it daily at home. Without any recommendations or instructions (like best time for checking blood pressure), I procrastinated, then looked on Amazon for recommendations, then procrastinated again.
I finally stopped at the CVS across the street from my apartment complex earlier this week, and looked at their selection. I pulled one off the shelf, consulted with the pharmacist about the monitor and asked about best times to take blood pressure readings, then purchased it and brought it home. It sat where I dropped it for a few days.
I finally decided to pop open the box this morning and read the instructions. I inserted the batteries into the monitor and set up the date and time, measured my arm to assess which cuff to use, then plugged the cuff into the monitor. I pressed the big button and watched it wrrrr in fascination. It finally stopped, and displayed the numbers 127/77. Not bad!
