This past week has been a bit crazy! My uncle went in for surgery on Tuesday morning. The previous night I had closed at work, which means I worked until 10:30 PM. I got up at 4:00 am to go to the hospital with him, my mom, my aunt, and my grandma. His surgery went fine, despite the apprehensions of the anesthesiologist because of his weak lungs. I then went to work to close again so I worked until 10:30. I hadn't prepared any kind of food at all for the day, so my eating wasn't very good. I ate a chicken casear salad for breakfast (strange, I know, but hospital cafeteria food is limited) and two cranberry fiber cookies. For lunch, I went to the Asian supermarket. I order lemon chicken, avocado sushi, and rice. I ate half the order of lemon chicken and it made me feel sick. I ate a couple pieces of sushi, and no rice. I ate the rest of the chicken for dinner, despite the earlier problems. My eating this week hasn't been in excess, it just hasn't been good food at all. I also didn't exercise on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. My C25K workout today was HARD!!!!! I may do week four again next week, just to be sure I have it.
Despite the bad eating and lack of exercise and water, my weight has been going down. I know that a day or two or three of bad eating won't make me gain weight, but I still expect to see immediate consequences of what I do. If I eat badly, I expect the scale to be up the next day. If I eat well, I expect it to be down. But it doesn't work like that. Anyway, when I stepped on the scale today, it was something crazy-amazing like 176 or 176.5!! I'm only a few pounds away from my first goal of being 174 and under. 174 is when I am no longer considered "obese" by the BMI charts. At 174, I am simply overweight. LOL.
I'm working on signing up for swimming lessons. I say "working on" it because it's this whole process where you have to sign up for an account with the fitness center, then wait for them to send you a password, which I'm still waiting for. Anyway, the lessons are twice a week, from November 5 to December 5. I'm excited. The lessons are Adult Swim Stroke lessons, so they will help me focus on speed, endurance, and form. Plus, they will force me to get to the pool twice a week, and help limit the number of days in a row I can be scheduled to close. I'm currently scheduled for 7 days in a row, starting tomorrow :/ Good money, but pretty rough.
